One word searches work best e.g. honda, baileys, lynx:
Rating: Player: You are viewer number 33935 Description: A man sprays his kitchen with Lynx so that his returning girlfriend will be overwhelmed by the aphrodisiac when she unpacks the shopping, distracting her long enough for him to sneak a girl out of the bedroom. Music: Search for Lynx Deodorant Kitchen Trail advert music
I feel strongly, that these Lynx adverts are very ***ist. They portray women as merely objects of ****** desire, and as inferior. I feel the need to make it very clear that we're not all sluts and we will not jump on you every time we get a whiff of the scent. Although i can see the humour in the adverts, because it shows how stupid men can be. I do not hate men, I just resent the fact of the female being seen as weak and inferior.
I think they r so clever...being a woman I dont think they r sexist...they dont force u to go copy the women in the ad! They r funny adverts and very clever ones at that! well done lynx!
Bloody awesome. It's not sexist, it's humourous. It isn't designed to specifically make fun of women at all. Maybe you should think before you make ***umptions about adverti*****t.
And a nice 'thumbs up' for a good touch on humour without going overboard. =P
i think that the adverts are brill. but i would like to know why the company thinks that women are vunrable to a smell of a ****** man. im just saying how would men feel if it was the other way around and men were vunerable to a womens scent? other than this question the humour behind the advert is good.
This is a great way to **** guys into buying the product by bringing girls into the add and telling the guys to buy their product so they can put it on and try to get the girls with it.
the adds are awesome, but not sexist in any form towards women, they adds tend to have the women powering over the men. not what i would first classify as sexist
Lynx are sexist. How could they not be sexist when the advert has the viewer rooting for a man cheating on his wife/girlfriend, who must obviously be so stupid as to be totally distracted by his deodorant as to not notice. That's not forgetting that Lynx advertising generally has men trying to control women through the power of lynx, the idea being that the men in the adverts always get subservient, animalistic sex objects who will act out their fantasies. The advertising may be meant to be humourous, but that doesn't change the message it gives by focusing on women as prizes and objects for men- just because you all find the adverts funny (I'll admit they are funny), does not mean that they aet a horrible image of what women should be like that seeps into society's consiousness. When women as sex objects is ALL you see in adverts, it ceases to be an oddity and becomes a controlling force in how we are taught to see women.
Lynx are NOT sexist. Why can't people deal with the fantasy?!
THAT'S WHAT IT IS. To call it sexist is to flatter it by making it political. I could argue that to give a roll-on to women size 12 & over, is excluding those who are smaller, and is going to want them to run around in vest tops, and more importantly EXCLUDES men!
My real point is that, I'm of the view that THEY are putting forward the hilarious fantasy as an ideal. So that men buy it.
THINK:
Falling through bushes..? ...to fight off dinosaurs with cave-girl bras? ...with highly identifiable supermodels, that most men know..?
or...
Having a shower scrub on a lawn, then rinsing off in somebody's swimming pool, to put dogs off your scent...?
COME ON! They're was a big hint that they (Lynx), were dealing with the surreal.
There's no political mandate, no cheating, no male mind control, no domination. I live on planet earth (UK). I'm not sure what part of the galaxy the last writers from, (At 11:50 pm, 20 June 2007, Hana said...).
Maybe if the writer focused more on having fun ("I'll admit they are funny...") as well as their own consciousness, They'd have more of an idea about tapping into the 'Zeitgeist', not pedalling 20th Century passée thinking.
Lynx excel in making ***ist, unrealistic adverts that appeal to immature men with small brains. You'll see them at clubs desperately trying to chat up your girlfriend, and failing.
