I'm doing a media piece of coursework on some contemporary car Tv ads and need to find out about audience reception to advertising techniques can anyone tell me any ad techniques used to make this advert, who made it, the music, the filming and how popular it is etc?...thanks!

I used it as an example when I "came out" to my mum and brother. An example to show the world that not all *** men are effeminate, mincing, drama queens. Sure he's acting but you would never tell he was ***.

I adore this advert. The pacing, the actors (the cutest people ever to be found in... nah, i live in London, this guy must be Canadian , playing up the old rivalry between the two countries-- love it!

What can I say.....sorry Nicole, Famke, Sandra, Holly, Uma, Jodie, Daryl....but Annelise leaves you all outside. So I cant speak french but I will still be getting the latest DVD (with or without subtitles) and perhaps ditching the photography classes in favour of language classes :-)

Ironically Anne-Lise Hesme is quite unknown in France ! In spite of her recent roles in "Hors de prix" and "Fauteils d'orchestre", or some older as "Tangy", french people almost know her in commercials ("freedent" and "Orange"). And we never had the chance to see this Advert ( on television ! (God bless Internet for that !)

Okay, Nina Simone's "Sinnerman"--I believe the version in this ad is the 10:19 length version from Pastel Blues (1965) that is also featured on the soundtrack to the remake of "The Thomas Crown Affair." Excellent song; excellent ad. Two very attractive people and great direction.

It sounds as though the actor mispronounces the word 'designers' and actually says "British designists". I must say that I find this slightly irritating as it is a blemish on an otherwise nice advert.
I am also quite embarrassed that he tries to stand Blackpool Tower up to the Eiffel Tower.

I also noticed the "designists".. what the hell?! There's no such thing! About the Blackpool Tower, that's just funny. And as we've all agreed, he's shushing her before the "Shakespeare".

But Annelise is the true star, her mannerism, the accent, the biting of lip, the tut, her clothes and chic style.. she's just heaven!! Man I am SO in love with her it's not even funny (even though she's 7 years older, which is kinda funny). Had no idea Jeremy was batting for the other side though, I thought they'd be the perfect match, after the "let's see" thing. Oh well, he's missing out.

I've always loved the whole French culture and women and she's just a perfect example. So thank you Renault for the great ad and introducing her to the UK. We salute you.
