totally class advert! Really simple but effective i guess? Nice view of LA (I think). I saw the long version in the cinema where the car avoids a lorry which was quite cool too.
Seriously one of the best adverts i can remember seeing. It's so humbling and poetic, especially for a company such as Smirnoff. Makes me want to cry...
I've seen the long version too. However, I don't understand why they would put a near accident in an alcohol ad. Bad ***ociation. Although the ad is good, the idea is not new. The long version really reminds me of Mulholland Drive by David Lynch. I wonder if that was intentional. The ad is saying, when you distill something three times (or edit it three times) you take out all the impurities (represented by the negative sentiments). Perhaps the ad is a little too sophisticated.
The advert is pure class. I'm doing a media project on it at the moment and the whole Smirnoff campaign. This is one of the best ads I've ever seen, if not the best. Well done to whoever made and edited it!
Indeed, and it was for that reason that it was withdrawn. Apparently, sample audiences didn't understand what the advert was trying to communicate to the viewer, so Smirnoff dropped it.
A terrible shame, it's definitely one of the most stunning adverts I've seen in a long time. Seems a crime that ads like this get dropped, whilst shocking ads like the current Frosties one get aired.
One of the best adverts ive seen for a long time, beautiful.
