I have it on very good authority that it is 100% real. he is a little known argintine gymnast called Chiriguano and has appeared in a few small fillm roles.
I'm guessing it's a fat suit seeing as the ad won this award - British Television Craft Awards, 2005 (Winner) for Best Make-Up, Hair & Prosthetics. Either that or the prosthetics part of the award was for a fake leg or something
I'll go for the fat suit explanation. Chiriguano is the name of an indigenous people of South America. Most live in northern Argentina (provinces Salta, Formosa and Chaco), and some in the south of Paraguay and Bolivia. One estimate says they number at present approximately 100,000.

Even a fat suit can have "sleeves" - and he has wrist bands that would disguise the "cuff". Very clever and great fun!
Ironic that they needed to fake it when you consider what Samo Hung was capable of 25 years ago.
